Description
wood, dark brown patina, remains of polychrome paint, tubular protruding eyes, broad mouth, min. dam., cracks, small missing parts, traces of abrasion;
the female Wé masks were always singer masks, while the male ones could be dancer masks as well. Black means “dangerous” and “malicious” and is therefore the colour of the so-called “tegla”, the evil masks.
