Provenance
Theo and Hildegard Oberle, Cologne, GermanyDescription
fired clay, reddish brown coating with traces of black paint, with angled legs and hands tied to the back, minor missing parts, slight traces of abrasion;
it was only at the beginning of the 60s of the 20th century that Vicus one of the early Peruvian cultures was archeologically discovered. Generally speaking Vicus ceramics are - due to the poor clay found in the region - technically mediocre, but artistically very rustical and expressive.
