a) pair of “natla” anklets, silver, cast and chiselled, hollow-worked, with hinge and clasp, d: 5.3 cm / 11.6 cm (inside/outside), h: 6.7 cm, weight: 280 g & 291 g
The “natla” foot bangles, which are considered typical of Oman and Zanzibar today, were originally imported from Gujarat for the Indian communities in Oman and Zanzibar. They were adopted by Omani women and produced with only minimal variations in many larger cities.
