Description

metal, curved blade, the lower half rectangular in cross-section, the upper one in flat forged sickle form, decorated with incised lines, the handle coated with plaited plant fibres, min. dam., slight traces of usage and corrosion;
one of the most beautiful weapons developed from an older design is the “sengese” throwing knife of the Matakam who live in the Mandara mountains. This knife is still used today and can be seen on men who use it both as a weapon and as ornamentation.
