Description
burnished clay, greyish brown paint, black discolouration, spherical, flat bottom, jagged compartments with roughened surface, dam., missing parts (rim of the spout);
the chamber of this bottle has been thoroughly transformed by attaching small pieces of clay, which were then incised with vertical lines. This technique, known as “appliqué nubbins”, creates a surface reminiscent of organic materials like tree bark or the surface of a mollusk.
