Description
fired clay, polychrome painting, globular, with a twin spout and bridge handle, on both sides painted with beaked birds with fluttering wings, min. dam., slight traces of abrasion, on acrylic base;
the painting is polychrome as the Nazca artists had managed to develop a whole series of fireresisting colours applied to vessels before firing. The themes chosen are affected by a strong symbolism but do not show any individual representations of princes, priests or warriors.
