Bondy was an artist and dealt with non-European art in Berlin. Among other things he collected African and Oceanic objects. In the middle of 1927 he founded the weekly magazine “Die Kunstauktion”, in Berlin which was the forerunner of “Weltkunst”.
Bondy war Künstler und handelte in Berlin mit außereuropäischer Kunst. Privat sammelte er unter anderem afrikanische und ozeanische Objekte. Mitte 1927 gründete er in Berlin die Wochenzeitschrift “Die Kunstauktion”, die Vorläufer der “Weltkunst” war.

Description
wood, dark brown patina, eyes with aluminium discs, prominent phallus, conical breasts, helmet-shaped coiffure with neck plait, incised scarifications on body and face, rep. (breakages plinth), cracks, slight traces of abrasion;
a figure by the same hand can be found in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum, New York (accession number 1979.206.12).
