Standing figure "pindi"

Description

wood, earthy greyish brown patina, big head with raised crest on the parting, dam., missing parts through insect caused damage (foot zone, left leg, area of belly and neck), crack, on plate;
the Mbala carve numerous figures, for various purposes. Present figure could belong to a healer “nganga”, but it might be used to designate possible land- chief successors as well.
