Description

wood, encrusted greyish brown patina, traces of black paint, kaolin, high-legged figure with accentuated breasts and round arms, presumably once holding a child in front of her lap, slightly dam. (fingers), crack (right side of the head), sacrificial traces, base;
figures in shrines were covered with white clay to indicate their spirituality. The colour white “hyire” is important. Priests and priestesses during rituals associated to their shrine will cover their bodies in white powder to celebrate the gods.
