light beige clay, matt patina, dark pigment remains, hollow, wearing a long garment and elaborate headdress, adorned with nose ring, necklace and ear spools, holding items in her hands, rest. (several breakages and small missing parts), hole in the back of the head, slight traces of abrasion, base;
the civilization of the Jamacoaque flourished from about 350 B.C. to 1540 AD. They lived along the coast of northern Ecuador. They were not under the rule of the Incas, though they traded with them. The Jamacoaque traded extensively with other peoples of South America and exported items as far north as Mexico.
