Description

wood, matt patina, remains of black paint, u-shaped shoulder and leg zone, belly with incised scarifications, surmounted by a proportionally small head, min. dam., cracks, small missing parts (feet), traces of abrasion, base;
the Vere are a small ethnical group settling in East Nigeria, south of the Bata and north and south of the Chamba. Unfortunately we know, even today, nothing about the significance of their figures which often show a striking similarity to the doll figures of the Namchi on the other side of the border in Cameroon.
