Description
light-weighted wood, reddish brown patina, traces of black paint, fine carved coiffure and facial features, a long tapering nose, delicate scarification marks arranged in bands along the neck and across the navel, slightly dam. (nose tip, coiffure, toes), missing parts (four fingers of the right hand, thumb of the left hand);
the Ebrié are an Akan group, living at the eastern Ivory Coast. Only few sculptures are preserved, for they soon had been exposed to the influence of christianity and synchretic religions.
