Description

Nippa palmwood, wing bones of the flying fox, plant fibre, the barbs additionally fixed with a reddish clay-like mass, which is spread on the plant fibre binding in a thick layer, old collection label “Salomonen Inseln Bismarck Archipel”, slightly dam.;
“kägoi” is a spirit, and the carving certainly symbolises the spirit that gives the spear its deadly power. The knob called “uiru” of red and yellow leaf fibres pressed closely together represents the spirits dwelling.
