Description
wood, brown patina, remains of black paint, grooved diamond-shaped facial plane, prominent ears, headdress, slightly dam., traces of insect caused damage (above all in the lower area), abrasion of paint, cracks, base;
presumably depicting “nommo”, carrying a wooden bowl on his head for protection against the sun and for eating. The “nommo” were eight messengers sent to earth by the creator-god “amma” in order to generate the human race.
