Description
wood, slightly encrusted matt patina, remains of pigments, clamp-shaped corpus, a long neck supporting a narrow head with beak-like mouth and crested coiffure, mirror glass inlay in the area of the eyes and at the temples, trimming with plant fibre, rep. (crack), traces of abrasion;
the Waja live in an area to the north of the upper Benue River. It was not before the 1960s that their large shoulder masks were discovered.
