Description

wood, pigments, base

The use and location of this object remains unclear. According to Wheelock, “club-like sceptres in this flat, elegantly curved form appear to originate from the Bobo and were probably carried by dancers or used in ceremonies” (according to Roy & Wheelock, 2007, p. 431). These objects were previously attributed to the Senufo.
