Description
light wood, red pigment, plaited plant fibre cuff, front and backside carved with the standing figure of a mythical spirit “nggwal”, fine carved, collection number: “71.1.196”, slightly dam., cracks, plate;
these pegs are used to hold together the sheets of sago-palm spathe which form the trough in which the sago flour is washed out from the pounded pith.
