Description
using the natural grown form of a branch: habile handle with curved ending where a shark tooth as cutting tool is attached, original binding from fine twisted coir/sinew material (min. dam. on one side);
according to the previous owner the knife comes from the collection of the granddaughter of Paul Merz, who was a public official (“Bezirksamtmann”) in Jaluit on the Marshall Islands (German colony) around 1900. The most pieces of his inheritance are kept in the Naturkundemuseum Coburg, Germany.
