Description
gold, 19.5 kt, 114 g,
Anthropomorphic pendants of this type were probably worn as body, status, or pectoral ornaments and also carried representative as well as ritual-symbolic significance. Stylistically, the object belongs to the sphere of goldwork attributed to the Quimbaya, recognizable in its frontal symmetry, mask-like face, emphasized headdress, and ornamentally reduced body form.
