Description

wood, matt dark brown patina, male/female, unusual headdress and facial features: arching brows merging into a pointed nose with flat triangular nostrils, a broad laughing mouth, breast, back and shoulders coated with linear incisions, nail heads as pupils (one missing), slightly dam., cracks;
the female example is richly adorned with three necklaces of fine coconut discs, beaded necklace and cowrie shell at the wrist, additionally she is abundantly rubbed with camwood powder. The male example is treated much poorer, wearing just one necklace.
