Pair of figures

Description

wood, matt dark brown patina, male/female, uniform posture and molding of the face, coiffures slightly varied, individual scarification marks, slightly dam., cracks (right side of the males body), abrasion of paint;
when a pair of figures is carved together, they cannot possibly represent spirit-spouses (which are always single pieces); they are inevitably spirits of nature, so-called “asie usu” and were used together by a trance diviner “komien”.
