wood, shiny dark brown patina, parallel incisions at the rim, a stylized quadruped as handle (elephant), dam., missing parts, traces of abrasion;
the Rotse have their homeland in western Sambia on the banks of the upper Zambezi. For a long time the Rotse were under the cultural influence of the Lunda, Chokwe and Luena. They are particularly known for their marked style in figures, but also in objects of daily use, like bowls, which were used for keeping meet and vegetable.
