The media artist, illustrator and sculptor Petr Zubek has been working with African art and culture for many years. This affinity for Africa is also evident in the meandering ornamentation of the artwork, which is strongly reminiscent of the allo boards of the Hausa from Nigeria.
Petr Zubek was born in 1967 in Frydek-Mistek / Czech Republic. His artistic education took place at the Academy of Fine Arts Prague, the Academy of Arts Düsseldorf and the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. He was a lecturer at the Institute of Graphics and Design, Düsseldorf and since 2010 head of the multimedia class at the TU Brno - Faculty of Fine Arts / Czech Republic.
