burled elm/ zelkova “keyaki”, metal (handles and lining), five small drawers, copper lining and frame removable

A traditional “hibachi” was used to burn charcoal as a heat source to keep warm. The small charcoal fire was used for making tea, heating sake wine and even for cooking. The small drawers were used for utensils such as
tea leaves, dried seaweed and towels.
