wood, pigments, nails, base

A stylistically and formally very similar mask published by Neyt, “The Arts of the Benue”, 1985, p. 150, III.77. Neyt assumes that the mask originates from northern Igbo workshops. On the other hand, it also belongs to the Idoma tradition. He had personally seen such a mask being used in the Idoma region, in the village of Ejoi, near Otobi, in the Akpa area, and the people called it “ichahoho” (Neyt, 1985, p. 146).
