Description

wood, middle brown patina, remains of a thick layer of kaolin, typical heart-shaped facial plane, sharp-edged nose with a flattened overhanging nose tip, drilled holes in the chin area, slightly dam., cracks, paint rubbed off, minor missing parts backside;
the “idimu” mask is owned collectively and is kept by an appropriate member of “yananio” or “kindi”. In a major performance , the “idumu” mask is hung on a fence surrounded by the smaller, individually owned “lukwakongo” masks.
