Description

wood, brown patina, protruding forehead, accentuated by a tube of fabric, filled with grass fibre and set with nassa snails, horizontally deepened, narrow slit eye zone, encrusted with coloured mass, beard made from hair and plaited plant fibres, open mouth with metal teeth, min. dam., traces of insect caused damage and abrasion;
the Ngere are also called “southern Wè”. They settle to the southeast of the Dan and to the west of the Bete. The characteristic Ngere masks indulge in extreme presentations of human and zoomorphic elements.
