Description
wood, dark brown patina, kaolin, remains of red and indigo blue pigment, castagnet-shaped eyes with see holes underneath, horn-like protuberances arranged vertical and horizontal, inserted nails with tiny remains of fur, the broad rim zone with small remains of real hair, slightly dam., missing parts (nose, mouth, backside at the rim), paint rubbed off;
female masks of the Wé are always singer masks. Male masks could be used as dance masks or could have some social function, which can only be determined at the place of its origin.
