Description
fired clay, painted with stripes in dark red and cremewhite patterns, remains of black paint, elongated head with cranial deformation, ear ornament, large opening in the head, mineral deposits;
the Nayarit sculptor used slip paint to render details of clothing decoration that must have been typical of the now-lost textile traditions of ancient West Mexico.
