wood, rich black patina, u-shaped corpus with short branches, beautifully carved head with curved coiffure, drilled hole for suspension, strong abrasion of paint in the forehead and nose area, minor missing part (inner side of the left branch), traces of usage, base;
the Guro’s heddle pulleys do not have any ritual or magic meaning but are in fact made as “l’art pour l’art” objects whose only purpose is to provide aesthetic pleasure.
