Description
wood, blackish brown patina, flat anthropomorphic head with bow-shaped projection reaching from the forehead down to the chin, painted with dots and curved ornaments, slightly dam., traces of insect caused damage, on base;
aside bamboo flutes head sculptures with human features were the most sacred property of the Inyai-Ewa. At the back wall of every mens house the “head of the mother” of the respective building was kept.
