Head sculpture
Description
ivory, eyes with inlay from black material (ebony?), delicate and regular carved facial features, coiffure arranged in diadem-shaped tufts with dotted decor, rising from columnar neck with fine grooved base, min. dam., fine cracks through age;
presumably once designed as handle of a whistle or sword, might have formed the top of a dignitary staff as well.
