Description

basketry with contrasting colour pattern, adorned with red and yellow strips of rattan, boar tusks and mother-of-pearl button, fine plaited plantfibre cord for attachment, very good condition, just tip of one tusk slightly dam.;
two types of “suklang” are made and worn by the Bontoc, one by married men and the other by bachelors. Those of the bachelors were low and flat and richly adorned, just like the present one. They were worn at the back of the head and personal items, such as tobacco, used to be tucked inside the hat.
