whale bone, roundish face with prominent high cheekbones, close-set tiny eyes, slit-like open mouth with inserted animal teeth, slightly dam.;
in former times such masks were placed on the face of the dead and buried with him in the grave. Nowadays they are just made for remembrance and are kept in the family.
