Description

fired red-orange clay, remains of red paint and white pigment, hollow, kernels for rattling inside, two drilled holes on front and backside, wearing jaguar whiskers on the face, heavily adorned with jewelry and decorative cloth, handwritten old collection numbers “OW 610” and “2PU 15” at the bottom and on the backside, slightly dam. (nose, foot tips);
Jaina is an island off the coast of Campeche, and the location of many primary and secundary burials. Most clay sculptures can be regarded as funerary offerings.
