wood, matt dark brown patina, prominent facial features: eyes in deep hollows framed by curved brows, striking when looking at the figure in profile: the neck describing a curved line, a fan-like projecting coiffure, slightly dam., both arms missing, hands at the hips just preserved in parts, both foot tips missing, base;
a work of the artist Ndam nji Mare from the village of Makoutam; presumably once part of stool, forming a kind of backrest. Stools were the foremost prestige objects.
