wood, greyish brown patina, arm- and legless body, head with crest and big eyes, strong sacrificial traces (liquids), encrusted clay-like mass, cracks, traces of weathering at the base, pedestal;
probably a “bavong tchitchiri” figure, but in extremely abstract form. This type of figure represents a near ancestor of the head of the family. They were displayed on the family altar “bavong” and should protect the whole family.
