Description
heavy wood, light reddish brown patina, round handle zone, the beating zone strengthened, with raised middle ridge on either side, tapering to the top, band ornaments with incised zigzag patterns, small remains of white pigment rubbed into the deepenings, dam., scratches, minor missing parts;
the club has an interesting history. It was liquidated by the Peabody Museum from their ethnographic collection in the 1920’s and used as a movie prop for seventyfive years.
