Description
wood, matt patina, rising from long legs, wearing an apron decorated with glass beads, further strings of glass beads worn around the neck, surmounted by a head with simplified facial features and a coiffure made from animal skin, min. dam., wooden base;
the dolls are called “ngide”, children (sing. “ikoku”). They are carved by the father and decorated by the mother. They help young girls to practice their later mother role. The tapering leather apron is typical for unmarried young girls.
