Description

fired clay/ ceramic, painting in cream white and red-brown, slitghty dam. (spout)

Moche ceramics were made almost exclusively for ceremonies of the political and social elite, not least as burial objects for funeral rituals.

Three phases in the development of Moche culture can broadly be distinguished: The early Moche period from around 100 to 300 AD (Moche I and II), its expansion and fluorescence during Middle Moche from 300 to around 600 AD (Moche II-IV) and the late period from 600 to 800 AD.
