b) dagger “koummya” with scabbard, Central Anti-Atlas, Ida ou Semlal, silver, handle and scabbard forged and cut from silver wire with filigree floral patterns, yellow and green enamelled border, brass back, l: 41.5 cm, weight: 780 g
The elaborate, complex floral ornaments are based on finely bent silver wire, which was forged on a brass carrier plate and then polished. This elaborate technique of the Jewish silversmiths of the Ida ou Semlal was used for amulets and round fibulae, as well as for these characteristically decorated daggers.
