wood, light brown patina, black paint in some areas, wickerwork bonnet, coated with plant fibre, crowned by a board-shaped crest with abstract curved contours, eye with mass remains where originally red abrus beans were attached, inscribed on the inside “FC61442”, slightly dam., traces of insect caused damage, metal base;
Budja crests were discovered in the 80s of the 20th century during a dance in honour of the King of Belgium. These crests are used in agrarian festivities and to favor the hunt. They are a stylisation of a mythical animal and might be combined with a human face mask attached to the front.
