Description

bronze with patina, snake heads in the shoulder region, adorned with necklace and floral ornaments, min. dam., small missing parts in the cast, slight traces of corrosion;
“Jumadi”, also known as “Dhumavathi”, is a deity worshipped particularly in the Tulu Nadu region of Karnataka and Kerala in India. It is worshipped by various names like “Marlu Jumadi”, “Kantaru Jumadi”, “Maley Jumadi” and “Panch Jumadi”, in honour of the various forms “Jumadi” took to vanquish all the demons.
