Description
multi-part necklace with a central pendant in the characteristic shape, made of gilt brass, decorated with red gemstones (blood jasper) and turquoise, on a leather strap with figural and floral elements, strong signs of wear
This necklace was worn exclusively by the girl-priestesses of the Nepalese “kumari” cult, who were worshipped as the reincarnation of the patron goddess “taleju”.
