Description

miniature glass beads, cotton thread, white bead netting with geometrical patterns in black and different shades of blue, green and red, beaded band for attachment, slightly dam., minor missing parts, cuts, rep. (sewn tear);
the “nyoga” hangs form the shoulders at the back of the cape “linaga” worn by the bride. The term means “snake”, since the longer trains touch the ground and move in a serpentine fashion as the bride dances. Its an essential part of bridal apparel among the Ndbele people.
