in their regular large size these objects are important tools in domestic and agricultural work. The miniature “tools” are generally carved in elephant bone, some of them are manufactured in wood or ivory. Most of these pieces belong to preceptors of high grade, but in some areas any “kindi” may have one or all of these items in his possession.They are used in lower and higher grade initiations, but only in small quantities at lower grades.
