Description

wood, slightly shiny dark brown patina, round staff, crowned by seated figure, min. dam., small missing parts, base.
The Dayak placed traps along jungle trails to catch wild boar. To set the proper height of the trip cord, they used a special measuring stick, called “tun-tun”. The figurative charms carved at the top of the “tun-tun” were believed to magically “call the boar to their death”.
