Description

red terracotta, blackish coating, broad receptacle, tapering on both sides, crowned by a seated figure amalgamated with the receptacle, hole in the head with broad rim serving as spout, slightly dam., minor missing parts (rim of the receptacle);
anthropomorphic pottery was put on shrines to honor deceased. Sometimes the receptacles were adorned by a seated male and female couple. Such prestigious vessels were used during marriage ceremonies with the couple likely represents the primal ancestors.
