Anthropomorphic needle case
Description
walrus ivory, brown patina, hollowed corpus, missing parts (head, left arm);
needles were usually made of split pieces of birds long bones, which provided hard yet flexible material. Needle cases were standard equipment for seamstresses, who spent much time producing carefully tailored fur garments.
