Description
wood, encrusted brown patina, small remains of polychrome paint, incised zigzag ornaments, dam., missing parts through insect caused damage (snout and horns, above all backside at the rim), rep. (rim of the calotte on the left, horn tip on the right), on metal base;
representing a small species of antelopes called redfronted gazelle or “Gazella rufifrons”. At the same time provided with features of other animals: the comb of a cock or the long snout of a crocodile with jagged rows of teeth.
